Nicaragua - voluntary work
DescriptionThe largest (129 494 km²) of the 7 Central American states found the road to democracy and peace more than 15 years ago. Nicaragua now looks to his future with optimism he who had no, or almost no, tourist tradition. It is precisely because it is a country still "new" (authentic) that it is interesting to visit! The welcome of "Nicas" (Nicaraguans) will be kind, tinged with curiosity and interest for the visitor.
You will have the opportunity to discover the Romero Center, the community center of Nandaime where we teach and put on the potential of local youth to promote the development of the entire community. Young people can get involved in many of the Center's projects such as the theater troupe and the traditional dance troupe. The Center has a community radio station, a farm and a fair craft center. With the Center's stakeholders, participants will learn to distinguish the positive and negative impacts of North-South relations, in a spirit of solidarity.
To help you adapt, you will first be accommodated in the community center (in dormitory) and subsequently in foster care. The families are part of the clientele of the Romero center and are well selected. They offer simple but safe accommodation. Family accommodation is the best way to know the soul of the country.
